Casanova Di Neri Brunello Di Montalcino 2012
Color ciliegia con veste poco intensa. Forte aroma di caffè e caramello. Si nota che è passato.
This red wine comes from Montalcino the area of the Tuscan top wines. This high-class Brunello is full of fragrance, with hints of sweet spice and ripe fruit.
The grapes are harvested manually in mid-September. After harvesting, the grapes are fermented for a period of 19 days. The further aging of this wine took place over a period of 42 months in Slavonian oak barrels of 40 and 77 hl, after which the further aging in the bottle was continued for at least another year.
The 2015 vintage is a unique Brunello from Casanova di Neri because the Brunello uses the fruit of the extremely beautiful vineyards of Brunelli Tenuta Nuova and Cerretalto. This is the first time this has happened at Casanova di Neri. This edition has received fine scores from 94/100 James Suckling and 94/100 Wine Advocate and has a drinking window until at least 2035.
Casanova di Neri belongs to the new generation of Brunello producers. The company started in 1971, when Giovanni Neri bought the largest domain in the Montalcino area. The domain is 39 ha in total and divided into 4 vineyards. The oldest vineyard is 45 years old. The vineyards are at an altitude of about 350 meters above sea level. Casanova di Neri is one of the best producers of Brunello wines.
